The beginning of White Day
The culture of giving chocolates on Valentine's Day was born from various confectionery manufacturers.
White Day on March 14th is also a culture unique to Japan.
In France and Europe, there is no Why Day. Rather, it is the French way of giving each other gifts on Valentine's Day.
White Day is the day when men give Valentine's Day gifts to women.
I think that nowadays, regardless of gender, family members, friends, and lovers give each other gifts in return.
White Day was born in Japan around 1978. As various confectionery manufacturers and other industries launched White Day campaigns for their products, the custom of giving back to Valentine's Day was born among younger generations. Prior to White Day's creation, the day was known by various names, including "Return Valentine," "Cookie Day," and "Flower Day." The Fukuoka-based confectionery shop Ishimura Manseido is credited with sparking the idea of "Marshmallow Day," which began selling white marshmallows around 1977. The first White Day event was held in 1980 , prompting the National Candy Industry Cooperative to name March 14 "White Day as the Day for Giving Candy," and the idea of "Answer Day" to Valentine's Day was invented. Isn't White Day a uniquely Japanese custom that embodies the strong sense of obligation and human feelings, that of always giving back in return for a gift?
