It's still chocolate season

Valentine's Day may be over, but chocolate season is still on.

If you take a look at a French supermarket around April, you'll see it overflowing with all kinds of chocolates.

They come in a variety of cute shapes, including egg, rabbit, sheep, etc. Apparently, some even contain surprises.

But why give chocolate for Easter?

In the past, Kalem had to be performed in accordance with Christian teachings.

Karem has a strict rule that he must not eat any animal products for six weeks.

The biggest problem during Karem was what to do with the eggs. During Karem, people are not allowed to eat any animal products. However, chickens cannot stop laying eggs, and at the time there was no way to preserve them. In the end, by the time Karem ended, there were a lot of eggs left over. It was a shame to waste food. So people thought, why not at least do something fun with the ruined eggshells ? And that's how decorated eggs were born. It's said that around the 18th century, people would surprise people by hiding chocolate inside eggshells as a reward for Karem, and this is how the practice of giving chocolate at Easter began.
