[Memories of Pain de Campagne]
That was 15 years ago.
There were a lot of people at a bakery I happened to pass by in Paris.
I thought they must be selling delicious bread! When it was my turn in line, I decided to go with the classic "baguette."
So, he gave me a shout.
The bakery here doesn't sell baguettes, and I was told that they are famous for their pain de campagne.
At the time I thought, "Huh?", but I guess it was the pride of a long-established store.
It was that famous bakery in the 6th arrondissement that is now listed in the Paris Guide as being well-known.
The bakery's pain de campagne is actually sold in this supermarket in the mountains, so I got some today.
Every time I see this pain de campagne, memories from 15 years ago come back to me, but the sourness of this pain de campagne makes it the perfect meal bread.
