[Geneva Escalade Day]

There was a traditional festival of the Escalade in Geneva.

It is said to be a historic day when, on the night of December 11, 1602, the city, together with the citizens, stopped the Savoyard army that was trying to take control of Geneva and won the battle.

Through the old town, people dressed in period costumes such as soldiers and farmers were parading.
The children's costumes were also adorable, and the lit candle lanterns looked fantastic at night.

There is an anecdote about "Grandma Royaume's pot," which is famous for pouring a large pot of boiling soup on the enemy. After tasting this vegetable soup, you can enjoy a steaming hot meal while watching the festival.

A celebration that is eagerly awaited even at Christmas.
It's true that the energy that the people of Geneva put into this festival was incredible.
